The
editors of Asian Security welcome proposals for special issues. Special
issues are generally organized by a guest editor in conjunction with
Asian Security's editors. Those interested in creating a special
issue of the journal should submit a proposal to the editors.
The Proposal should describe the theme, scope and rigor of the issue
and provide a list of possible
articles to be included (see instructions below).
Guidelines
for Guest Editors
For those interested in submitting a proposal for a special issue
of Asian Security please keep in mind the following
responsibilities that fall to the guest editor:
1) Special Issues should aim to publish four full-length articles,
but there should be one or more additional articles submitted
for review
and ready to go as back up pieces for the SI. If they are not used
for the SI and are worthy submissions, they may appear individually
in forthcoming issues of AS.
2) Guest editors should generate a list of appropriate reviewers
for each manuscript and in consultation with the other editors
should contact the reviewers for their
participation.
3) Guest editors are responsible for correspondence with and the
on-going relationship with the authors, this means keeping everyone
appraised of deadlines
and the
nature of the submission, review, revision, and publication process. This
also includes drafting the reviewers' report to authors, circulating it
to AS editors
for input, then sending it to authors.
4) Guest editors are responsible for writing a short introduction
to the issue.
5)Guest editors are encouraged to do an initial screening of articles
to check for suitability for publication.
6) The ultimate decision to publish individual articles will be made
by the AS editors in consultation with the guest editor.
7) Guest editors are responsible for making sure that authors submit
their final work in the proper style format of the journal.
