Procedures
We prefer to receive submissions electronically. To
facilitate the review process, please make sure that your submission contains
the following:
(a) cover letter with author's contact information
and affiliation
(b) an electronic
file in MS Word or compatible format (double spaced).
(c) 100-word abstract on a separate page.
Please send (a), (b), and (c) to: Electronic
Submission
The editors will strive to inform authors of a decision within
3 months of their manuscript submission. Manuscripts
of a standard ready for publication have the best chance
of being
sent for review. Authors should not submit incomplete or
initial
drafts of manuscripts,
as these
will generally not be sent for review nor considered for publication.

Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
Asian Security publishes
social science research on
aspects of national and international security in Asia.
Typical articles combine theoretical rigor, substantive knowledge,
and policy relevance. For example, articles may analyze an issue from a
theoretical perspective; test theory or competing debates against
relevant
data; or provide a new historical treatment or solid comparative
analysis of an issue. All articles are refereed.
Asian Security does not evaluate works already published
elsewhere or submitted to another publisher. A manuscript is
clearly not original enough if as
much as half of the ideas or evidence will have appeared in a book or elsewhere
first. If a question of overlap arises, at the time of submission please
send a copy of the earlier work and ask the editors for a determination.
An article appearing in a forthcoming book may be published
in Asian Security upon
consultation with the editors.
An article length of
5,000 to 15,000 words, including notes, is appropriate. Research
notes and review essays
are shorter.
